First-Year Convocation insightful

A First-Year Convocation was held on August 19, and all first-year students were in attendance. The Deans from the Schools at Saint Francis alongside the Provost Wayne Powel, President Father Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., current student Gabrielle Beck, and alumna Elisha Fleig processed into the filled auditorium to officially welcome students academically to the University and offer words of wisdom. Senior strategic communications major and pre-law minor Amanda Schiavo presented some of her research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) on April 7 at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Schiavo presented findings from a study she completed in her Communications Theory and Research course during the 2015 fall semester at Saint Francis. ENACTUS Wins Regional Competition 2016

The Saint Francis University chapter of ENACTUS won the title “Regional Champions” in the ENACTUS Regional Competition held in Washington, D.C. on March 29. Competing against 50 other colleges and universities from the Northeast Region, the ENACTUS team presented the results of educational outreach projects which were completed during the academic year to a panel of 12 business professionals. 10th Anniversary Spring Break Trip to London a success

The Saint Francis University School of Business and Office for Study Abroad sponsored and celebrated its 10th Anniversary Spring Break trip to London from Feb. 26 - March 5. Twenty students, along with Fr. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., Dr. James Logue, and Dr. Randy Frye attended the trip. The London spring break trip was founded ten years ago by Dr. Frye, Dean of the School of Business, and was inspired by Mr. Philip Kennedy, an Accounting alumnus, former School of Business Advisory Board member, and retired Professor of Accounting from Slippery Rock University. Ms. Leah Kessler Marketing and International Business Major, Class of 2014 Kessler's Story Leah Kessler loves business, but her passion is mission work. A 2014 alumna of Saint Francis University, Leah graduated a semester early with a degree in marketing and international business. During her time at Saint Francis she was heavily involved in clubs and activities related to both of her passions. She participated in Enactus and the Society of Economic Analysis, and was also active in the HUGS United Spring Break mission trips, as well as the Jamaica International Microlending Initiative (JIMI)
