What are the deadlines to apply?

 We follow a rolling admission process for most programs but we suggest applying by the following dates to maximize your benefits.

  • Transfer Admission Information

    Everything you need to know to Transfer with Ease

    • If you have completed the equivalent of a US secondary school education and have at least one full-time semester (12 or more credits) as a degree candidate at another college or university you should apply as a transfer student to either our on-campus or online programs.

    • Our enrollment team is happy to help you find a program that is a good match for you. Saint Francis University is proud of our breadth of academic offerings.   To explore on your own, see the list of majors available on-campus and online.

      • Students can transfer a maximum of 98 credits to Saint Francis University.
      • Grades of “C” or better from accredited colleges and universities will be considered for transfer credit.
      • Developmental, review, or remedial courses are not transferable. A course for which no credit is given at the original institution cannot be transferred for credit at Saint Francis University.
      • Science courses will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
      • Transfer credits are not used to compute your grade point average at Saint Francis University.
      • Military credits, special certifications, and other ACE-approved program can be considered for transfer credit.
      • SFU offers online degree programs through the Division of Professional Studies that are designed to be highly transfer-friendly.
    • Articulation agreements are established to help students smoothly transition between colleges and programs without duplicating coursework. Many institutions have these articulation agreements in place with SFU which may help you maximize your prior education.

    Transfer Scholarship Opportunities 

    At Saint Francis University we know that affordability is important to you.  We offer merit-based scholarships based upon previous academic performance.

    • On-Campus Undergraduate Students: Earn up to $25,000 in annual transfer scholarships!
    • Online Program Scholarships:  Contact the Division of Professional Studies for details.  Online Program Scholarships: We apply a 25% scholarship to our online per credit rate.

    Transfer Student Checklist

    Completed Application

    Official transcripts* (high school and any two or four-year colleges/universities or technical schools attended)

    College Clearance Form **

    Be in good standing at your previous institution.

    Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and 12 transferable credits.


    *High school transcripts are waived for Division of Professional Studies applicants with 15 credits or more from a post secondary school

    **College Clearance forms are not requires for Division of Professional Studies applicants
