Reclassification

As Saint Francis University begins its exciting transition to NCAA Division III, the Athletics Department is proud to announce the addition of men’s swimming as its 23rd intercollegiate athletics program, launching in the 2026–27 season.

Chynna Bozeman has been promoted to head coach of Saint Francis women’s basketball after a standout season as an assistant. A former college star and experienced coach, she brings strong leadership and a clear vision as the Red Flash look to build on their legacy and return to championship form.

Saint Francis has extended head coach Chris Villarrial’s contract as he leads the football program through its transition from Division I to Division III. With 68 wins, two NEC titles, and a historic FBS victory, Villarrial is the most successful coach in program history and remains committed to building excellence on and off the field.

Saint Francis has promoted alum Devin Sweetney to Associate Head Coach after he helped lead the Red Flash to their first NEC title in 34 years and a return to the NCAA Tournament. A former standout player and seasoned pro, Sweetney brings experience and deep ties to the program.

In a forward-looking "Welcome Press Conference" held Friday, March 28, 2025, at Saint Francis University, celebrated SFU’s acceptance into the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

Saint Francis has promoted alum Luke McConnell to head coach after helping the Red Flash win their first NEC title and NCAA Tournament berth in 34 years. A former player, assistant, and associate head coach, McConnell continues a family legacy—following his father as SFU head coach.
