Biography

Dr. Timothy Miller was raised in Anchorage, AK. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Penn State in 1988. He received his B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah. His primary research interests are in power and energy systems, specifically associated with underwater or extraterrestrial applications. He also works in the areas of computational fluid dynamics, geophysical flows, and technical innovation. He enjoys teaching and mentoring through research and outreach. Dr. Miller was a member of the research faculty at Penn State for over 25 years, achieving the rank of Research Full Professor before helping to establish an accredited General Engineering program at Saint Francis University. Dr. Miller directs the efforts of SFU’s senior capstone engineers. He has three children.
