    ECE Post Bac Certificate TileIf you already have a bachelor’s degree, yet no certification to teach in Pennsylvania, the post-baccalaureate program in Early Childhood Education (PreK-4) can help. You may pursue the online post-baccalaureate either part-time or full time. Since this program leads to certification, a full semester of student teaching is required.

    Post-baccalaureate Certificate Program in Early Childhood Education (PreK-4)

    Total Credits: 69-78 (depends upon student teaching)

    This post bac training program is for adult students with any conferred bachelor's degree who want to change careers or focus on early childhood education certification. Classroom observations and student teaching are completed in a school or center near where the adult learner lives or works. Some students may be able to student teach in their respective center per approval from the program director.

    It is offered by the division of Francis Worldwide in collaboration with SFU's Department of Undergraduate Education.


    Students already possessing a bachelor's degree may be eligible to complete the early childhood certification coursework. This online program prepares students for teaching certification (K-4) in the State of Pennsylvania only.

    Career Outcomes

    The post-baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education provides opportunities in a variety of settings including private and public schools, Head Start Programs, tutoring centers, early childhood learning centers, daycare centers, and more. While most obtain positions as a PreK-4 teacher, some of our graduates have pursued Head Start coordinator or daycare center director positions. No matter your interest in the early childhood education field, a variety of opportunities abound.
