Fairness, Advocacy, Respect and Title IX

  • Inspired by the person and message of Saint Francis of Assisi, we value dignity of the person, shared responsibility, and we place ourselves on an equal basis with people.

At Saint Francis University we promote Fairness, Advocacy, and Respect in all of our actions. We promote and engage in actions that are free from bias. We care for and support each other and speak in favor of the rights of others. We strive to treat all people with dignity and respect.

Every member of the University community deserves to be treated respectfully and each should treat others with respect. All students, faculty, staff, and friends – should be able to pursue their education and work in a safe environment, free from discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct or violence.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. The University is committed to fostering a safe campus environment where sexual misconduct and violence are unacceptable, and where survivors or those who believe they were harmed by another person are provided support and avenues of redress as appropriate.

    If You Experience Sexual Misconduct……

We encourage all members of our campus community to seek support for and report all sexual harassment and sexual misconduct directly to the Title IX Coordinator or a Title IX Team Member.

These individuals will assist in eliminating the misconduct, preventing its recurrence and addressing the effects. While Saint Francis University supports those who experience sexual misconduct, Title IX is the law that sets guidelines for implementation.
