Not all marine animals react to changing ocean conditions in the same way, according to Dr. Matthew Birk, a biology professor at Saint Francis University and Brad Seibel, a biological oceanographer at the University of South Florida.

Saint Francis University has been awarded a $1 million grant by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to launch an Aviation Maintenance Technician School. The new Aviation Maintenance Technician School will be sited at the John Murtha Johnstown Cambria County Airport and will offer a 14 CFR 147-certified training curriculum for Aviation Maintenance Technicians.

Saint Francis University has landed on the prestigious list of Forbes 2022 America’s Top 500 Colleges. In its annual list, Forbes ranked colleges and universities in the U.S. based on the return on investment and outcomes top schools delivered for their students. According to Forbes, their methodology highlighted schools whose students graduated on time, secured high salaries and low debt; and went on to have successful careers. In addition to the traditional ranking criteria of graduation rates and alumni salaries, Forbes factored in high-level achievements of students and graduates as an

SFU welcomes more than 100 alumni and community mentors to campus Oct. 17- 22. The event is an excellent way for current students to benefit from the professional expertise of past graduates, many of whom are returning to campus for Homecoming celebrations that weekend.

SFU student Damian Tobias' essay was chosen as this year's recipient of a $5,000 Father Tom Schaefer Scholarship from SAGE Scholars Educational Foundation.
