Saint Francis University Launches Zero-Tuition Advantage to Expand Access for Pennsylvania Students

Saint Francis University recognizes that the cost of higher education is often viewed as one of the greatest barriers for students and families. Many assume that a private, Catholic education is financially out of reach. In response, the University is reaffirming its mission of accessibility and opportunity by introducing the Saint Francis University Zero-Tuition Advantage—a program designed to ensure that finances do not stand in the way of an undergraduate student’s future. 

Making College Accessible and Affordable 

The SFU Zero-Tuition Advantage directly addresses the concerns about affordability by combining federal, state, and institutional aid and then covering any remaining tuition balance for qualifying  Pennsylvania students. With this initiative, Saint Francis University demonstrates that it is not only possible to pursue a high-quality, mission-centered education at a private university, but also affordable. 

How It Works 

Students begin by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before  March 1. Once admitted, Saint Francis University’s financial aid team packages federal, state, and institutional funds to maximize support. The SFU Zero-Tuition Advantage then fills any remaining tuition gap for qualifying Pennsylvania residents, ensuring that eligible students will not face out-of-pocket tuition costs. 

Who Qualifies 

The program is available to:

• Pennsylvania residents   
• First-time freshmen and traditional undergraduate transfer students beginning Fall 2026  
• Students from families with an annual income of $65,000 or less
• Students who qualify for both the Federal Pell Grant and the Pennsylvania State Grant (PHEAA)
