Two Saint Francis University engineering students earned third place and a $5,000 prize at the Zingale Big Idea Competition with their innovative high-heat safety product, Heatmark.

Saint Francis University hosted the CCAP District 2 Spring Meeting, bringing together regional leaders to discuss innovation, workforce development, and the growing role of aviation and emerging technologies in regional growth.

Last fall, the University was thrilled to welcome Kaleidoscope the Series to campus for a special filming. The episode, which aired Nov. 2, 2025, highlights the University’s innovative program in which students learn alongside shelter dogs and cats in experiential courses that blend psychology, neuroscience, compassion, and community service.

Saint Francis University awarded Alexis Strange a three-year Army ROTC National Scholarship with an added room-and-board scholarship, highlighting the school’s commitment to leadership and service. The ceremony marked the start of her path to becoming a commissioned Army officer while studying to be a Physician Assistant.

When Jess Campbell, Director of the Connors Family Fine Arts Center at Saint Francis University, was invited to host a solo exhibition at the Gallery on Gazebo in Johnstown, she saw an opportunity to share the spotlight. The result is an exhibition, titled Echoes of Color, which will run from October 5 – 31, 2025.

As rail cars are constantly moved for cleaning, repair, or inspection, Curry Rail Services needed an efficient system to quickly identify the location of each car. Nathan Cammarata, an SFU engineering/mathematics major is collaborating with the company todevelop a smartphone-based strategy for tracking the location of rail cars in real time.

Saint Francis University has received a high-speed, industrial-grade 3D printer, thanks to a generous donation from a corporate partner. Known as the BIG-Meter, the printer features a build area of one cubic meter, enabling the creation of full-scale prototypes, tooling, molds, and end-use parts in a single print.
