Saint Francis University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational, extra- and co-curricular, athletic, or other programs, or in the context of employment. Sex discrimination is prohibited by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a federal law that provides that:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.
Title IX requires institutions to provide an educational environment free from discrimination based on sex. Sexual harassment, sexual violence, sexual misconduct, and relationship violence are all forms of sex discrimination.
Saint Francis University is committed to establishing and maintaining a safe and nondiscriminatory educational environment for all University community members. It is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination in matters of admission, employment, and housing, and in access to and participation in its education programs, services, or activities. The University prohibits and does not engage in discrimination or harassment on the basis of gender, age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any protected classification.
The University, as an educational community, will promptly and equitably respond to reports of sexual harassment, sexual violence, sexual misconduct, and/or relationship violence in order to eliminate the harassment, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects on any individual or the community. Title IX provides educational processes, remedies, and outcomes. Public law enforcement follows criminal processes, remedies, and outcomes. While the school will act using the education lens of Title IX, reporting parties always have the option to avail themselves of and will be fully supported by the University to seek the services of law enforcement.
Although a report may come in through many sources, the University is committed to ensuring that all reports are referred to the Title IX team. This team, led by the Title IX Coordinator, assists in the review, investigation, and/or resolution of the report according to the University’s Resolution Process for Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Stalking, and Other forms of Discrimination.

Clery Annual Disclosure Reports
As required by the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), the Clery reports will inform you about the University’s methods for reporting crime, support and assistance available to crime survivors, policies relating to crime and campus emergencies, and crime statistics for the last three years.
The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act, or Campus SaVE Act, is an amendment to the Clery Act passed through President Obama’s Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. The SaVe Act is a compliment to Title IX meant to help higher education institutions better respond to and prevent sexual misconduct. The SaVe Act updates the Clery Act by mandating higher education institutions participating in federal student aid programs to increase transparency and provide "primary prevention and awareness programs" regarding sexual misconduct.
