About the Speaker

Daniel P. Horan, OFM, is a Franciscan friar who serves on the faculty of the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He is a columnist for America magazine and the author of several books including the award-winning The Franciscan Heart of Thomas Merton: A New Look at the Spiritual Influence on his Life, Thought, and Writing (Ave Maria Press, 2014). His newest book, due out this fall, is a collection of essays titled God is Not Fair and other Reasons for Gratitude. He is the author of more than eighty popular and scholarly articles. He is also a frequent lecturer and retreat director around the world, and has taught at Boston College, Siena College, and St. Bonaventure University.
