    About Dr. Michele Papakie

    Biography

    Adjunct faculty member Michele Papakie, an expert in social media marketing and strategies, is teaching her first course at Saint Francis during the 2019 spring semester.

    Papakie serves as the chair of the Journalism and Public Relations Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

    Papakie worked in public relations for more than 20 years, specializing in strategic planning, education and policing. In addition to her experience in public relations and education, she is serving her 29th year as a member of the 171st Air Refueling Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Her service has taken her to nearly 20 countries, including a six-month tour in Afghanistan in 2010. She has also been active in local politics during her career, serving two six-year terms as a Brush Valley Township supervisor. 

    She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from IUP in 1993; a Master of Arts degree in regional planning from California University of Pennsylvania in 1996; and a Doctor of Science degree in communication and information systems from Robert Morris University in 2002.
