  • The Application Process 

    International First Year Students are welcome to apply to Saint Francis University for the Fall or Spring semesters. Saint Francis University operates under a rolling admissions policy with the exception of the Physician Assistant majors who have an Priority Application Date of November 15th and Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy majors who have an Priority Application Date of January 15th

    International Admission Requirements

    • International Students may submit any of the following applications:
    • Official secondary school (high school) academic records (transcripts, certificates, diplomas, mark sheets) with certified English translations. Transcripts must be translated by the high school or an international credential evaluating agency. World Education Services is recommended
    • If you are a native English speaker or study in a secondary English-speaking school, SAT or ACT are required. Specific majors may require SAT or ACT. Please contact the International Admissions office for details
    • International Students whose native language is not English must submit proof of English language proficiency. The following are ways in which you can satisfy the language proficiency requirement:  TOEFL, IELTS or iTEP scores, or IB score of 5 or higher on the English A 1 or 2 exams. Any applicant, who does not meet the English proficiency requirement, but, has a strong academic record, may be admitted to the University and will enroll in the University’s intensive English program, for appropriate course work, until suitable English proficiency is acquired.
    • Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, professor, or counselor.

    • Personal Statement of at least 250 words.

    Additional information required of International Transfer Students:

    • Previous coursework from international colleges and universities will be considered for transfer credit on a case-by-case basis. For courses to be considered for transfer credit, they will need to be submitted to an international credential evaluation agency for a course by course evaluation. These courses must be a C grade or better and comparable to a course offered at Saint Francis
    • University Clearance Form 
    • International Student Transfer Release Form 

    For Intensive English Program Applications

    Any applicant, who does not meet the English proficiency requirement, but, has a strong academic record, may be admitted to the University and will enroll in the University’s Intensive English Program, for appropriate course work, until suitable English proficiency is acquired. Students seeking conditional admission to the University’s  Intensive English Program are not required to submit the Personal Statement in English. You may insert this phrase in the application essay instead of writing your own essay: “I am applying for conditional admission to SFU and want to attend the Intensive English Program.”   

    Scholarship Opportunities

    Saint Francis University has generous assistance available to international students. All international applicants will be considered for merit scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $10,000.International students may also be eligible for institutional need base grants. To be considered for any institutional grants, all applicants must submit both the International Financial Aid application and affidavit of financial support.

    To receive an I-20, a student must complete the steps listed below. Once all information is received, Saint Francis University will issue the I-20.

    • A student must be admitted to Saint Francis University.
    • Submit the Saint Francis Saint Francis University’s International Financial Aid application 
    • Submit the Saint Francis University Affidavit of Financial Support Form in addition to bank statements from parents or sponsor.
