    Endo - Indiana, PA (06/22/2016)

    IRMC Physician Group is looking to hire a Physician Assistant to help support the Endocrinology Service Line.  The Advanced Care Provider (ACP) will join an established, fast-paced practice as an integral member of the care delivery team.  The ACP will work daylight hours, Monday thru Friday, including scheduled clinic hours and hospital rounding.  
    The ACP will have responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a single physician.  Responsibilities will include the implementation and management of patient care plans, medication management, and patient education.  The ACP will also be expected to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. 


    • Manages and provides care for assigned caseload in consultation with healthcare team providers following approved clinical protocols.  This includes both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Performs various types of examinations with the ability to obtain and interpret information considering age specific needs.  Reviews patient labs and test results and informs of results in a timely manner.  Subsequently develops and implements appropriate care plans utilizing established protocol.
    • Serves as a consultant to staff, physicians and patients.  Conducts patient education and provides patients with instructions related to their ongoing care plan.  Assists in the triage of patient calls and clinical needs.  Demonstrates commitment to service excellence by understanding the needs of patients, their families, physicians and co-workers and doing what is required the first time, every time by being responsible, sensitive, accurate, timely, coordinated and thorough.  


    • The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the patients served as specified below. They must also demonstrate the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures. 
    • A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required
    • BS or MS candidate is preferred
    • Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
      Endocrinology experience is highly preferred.
    • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
      • A current state PA license, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required
      • A current CPR certification is required

    Salary Range: Competitive based on experience.

All of these patients will be seen by the Physician on the same day but not necessarily at the same time with the Physician Extenders.  In the office; evaluating Pain Management and musculo-skeletal patients, which will include follow ups, occasionally new patients, helping with test results and patient communications as well as education. We have interventional pain practice and physicians perform spinal procedures under fluoroscopy.  We are looking for a full time position. It may be a combination of Inpatient/Outpatient work depending on the needs of the practice.
    Working Hours: Generally 8 AM to 5 PM. Some weekend calls.
    Financial Package: Negotiable but will be competitive to the market. Will offer pension plan and other benefits including Malpractice Insurance

    Job Availability: May take up to 2 months after signing the contract to start working because of time needed for hospital privileges. Have Pennsylvania and DEA licenses as well as Supervisory approval from the state. May start outpatient much sooner.
