Blanket Collection Kicks off September 16

The Saint Francis University Community Blanketeers collection will begin September 16 and run through October 29, 2026. Since 2006, the Blanketeers have collected more than 3,603 beautiful quilted, crocheted, knitted, fleece-tied, and embroidered blankets, which have been donated to local children in Blair County, Cambria County, and surrounding areas.  Each year the Blanketeers focus on creating comfy, soft blankets for babies and young children.  We have extended our blanket collection to include lap blankets for the elderly. 

All blankets should be new and handmade in kid-friendly colors and patterns in a size suitable for small hands (approximately 36 x 48 inches).  While any materials are acceptable, washable fabrics and yarns are desirable as these blankets will get a lot of use and see many washings.  Before blankets are distributed, a small label will be sewn onto a corner of one that reads, Saint Francis University Community Blanketeers.
