    Catholic Daughters of the Americas

    Founded in 1903 by the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the largest Catholic women’s organizations in the world. With the guidance of the Blessed Mother as their patron, Catholic Daughters are a group of “God’s Active Angels” reaching out to others with helping hands, having a good time, gaining new friends, and offering help and understanding to all. Catholic Daughters engage in creative and spiritual programs which provide its members with the opportunity to develop their God-given talents in meaningful ways that positively influence the welfare of the Church and all people throughout the world. Catholic Daughters of the Americas strive to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all. The organization has nearly 70,000 members in 1,250 courts in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

    CDA_InTextTwenty-two young ladies from Saint Francis University were received into the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) during an installation Mass at the Immaculate Conception Chapel at Saint Francis on Sunday, November 22, 2015. The Mass was immediately followed by the Institution of Court Our Lady of Loretto #2702 – the first CDA campus court to be instituted in Pennsylvania.


    CRU_InTextAn internationally renowned organization, Cru is passionate about connecting people to Jesus Christ.  Cru meets Thursdays 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Boiler House to praise and worship God.

    Cru’s Purpose is helping to fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit by winning people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to win and build others; and helping the Body of Christ do evangelism and discipleship.

    Cru’s Mission is to win, build, and send Christ-centered multiplying disciples who launch spiritual movements.

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    This internationally renowned organization uses the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. The group meets Wednesdays from 9 p.m. - 10 p.m. in Stokes to praise and worship God.

    F.I.R.E. Starters

    FIRE_InTextFIRE Starters is a Confirmation retreat team, consisting of college students, lay ministers, and Franciscan friars.  They offer retreats that include praise and worship, prayer, drama, skits, faith sharing activities, games, Mass and Confession.

    Knights of Columbus

    Columbus_InTextIf you believe in the importance of investing your time in friendship, the Church, and helping others, the Knights of Columbus is for you. The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, that derive a great sense of satisfaction from being able to develop lasting friendships with each other while helping the less fortunate. Every day, the K of C provides its members the opportunity to discover the importance of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism to our country and the world.  

    Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

    RCIA_InTextSaint Francis University welcomes students of all faiths. Some students have questions about their faith and want to explore the Catholic faith. 

    RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a journey that explores the Catholic faith with the opportunity to be fully initiated into the Church at Easter. This program is for students coming from other Christian faith traditions as well as students who have never been baptized.


    Those Catholics who have already received the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Eucharist and wish to complete the initiation process with Confirmation.  Classes are offered in the spring. Call the campus ministry office for more information.
