SFU Student Named SAGE Scholars Foundation Father Schaffer Award Recipient

Selected from hundreds of student submissions, SFU student Damian Tobias' essay was chosen as this year's recipient of a $5,000 Father Tom Schaefer Scholarship from SAGE Scholars Educational Foundation.   The SAGE Scholars Educational Foundation sought submissions from students who shared their stories of preparing for college, visiting the campus, and making their final choices.

Damian's essay stood out for the top scholarship prize. He says, "Saint Francis University made a promise that they would honor my goals and career path in any way that they possibly could, even if it meant adapting the curriculum to be learned outside of the classroom. No other university seemed to value hands-on learning nearly as much as Saint Francis University, so it was clear that they were the perfect fit."

Damian Tobias is a first-year student studying Global Business Management in the Shields School of Business.  Damian is from Elizabethtown, PA.
