Saint Francis University has received a $1.25 million commitment towards the expansion of the University's Center for Fine Arts. The gift comes from an alumnus who is passionate about enhancing fine arts education and specifically the construction of the Resinski Black Box Theatre.

"We are extremely grateful for this gift," said University President, Very Rev. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., Ph.D. "This aids us in realizing our dream of expanding on the rich fine arts tradition at Saint Francis by creating a space that will become a home for any student interested in the fine arts."

Dr. Daniel Atwood, Director for the Center for Fine Arts, added, "This gift brings us one step closer to providing more challenging and varied repertoire, affords us an opportunity to produce more fine arts events, and offers us the opportunity to reach out to our surrounding communities."

About the Resinski Black Box Theatre

In March 2018, an enthusiastic group of theatre alumni began a grassroots effort to raise funds for the Resinski Black Box Theatre. The theatre will be dedicated to long-time director and drama professor Kenny Resinski, who passed away in 2013, and his wife Bonnie who continues to be active in the arts at SFU.
