Saint Francis University will host a public Aviation Open House at its new Aviation Education Center, offering prospective students, families, and members of the community an up-close look at one of the region’s most innovative career training programs.
The event, which will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, will be held at the Saint Francis University Aviation Education Center, located at 220 Innovation Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904. The Open House will focus on the University’s Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program and Aviation Specialization (pilot training), both designed to prepare students for in-demand, hands-on careers in aviation and beyond.
This Aviation Open House is an opportunity to explore how Saint Francis University is combining high-quality education with real-world application to meet the evolving needs of the regional and national workforce. With a focus on technical skills, applied learning, and career readiness, the University’s aviation programs are not only training the next generation of aviation professionals but also equipping students with adaptable skills that translate into a wide variety of high-demand industries.
Open House Highlights
The Open House will begin with check-in and refreshments starting at 9:00 a.m. Throughout the morning, visitors will be welcomed by program leadership. Attendees will learn about the current job market, the growing demand for aviation professionals (pilots and maintenance technicians), and the range of career pathways that stem from the training offered at Saint Francis. A guided tour by current students will offer guests a look at the facility’s advanced equipment, training labs, and learning environments, all of which reflect the latest industry standards.
Guests will also have the chance to hear directly from current students who will share their personal experiences and the hands-on opportunities they’ve encountered through the program. The day will include valuable time for attendees to meet face-to-face with representatives from leading aviation and technology employers. These conversations will highlight immediate local employment opportunities, provide insight into long-term career options, and offer networking connections with companies that are actively seeking skilled graduates. University staff will also be available to assist with questions related to enrollment, admissions, and veterans' education benefits.
Confirmed industry participants include Southern Airways, Republic Airways, Lockheed Martin, SkyWest Airlines, Kongsberg, Nulton Aviation, Beitzel Corporation, and Pillar Innovations, all of whom bring real-time insight into hiring needs and the career outlook for program graduates.
According to Brianna Pavkovich, Director of the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program, “This aviation open house is more than just a facility tour—it’s an introduction to a future. We’ve built a program that prepares students not just to succeed in aviation, but to thrive in multiple technical career paths. With the support of our industry partners, we’re proud to connect students to the kinds of high-skill, high-reward jobs that are transforming the local economy.”
Visitors will leave with a clearer understanding of how Saint Francis University’s aviation programs are uniquely positioned to launch students into successful, rewarding careers.
