Saint Francis University 174th Commencement Exercises

Saint Francis University is pleased to announce the plan for its 174th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The commencement exercises will be divided into three ceremonies by University School, all held at the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center's DeGol Arena over the two days. Details may be found at francis.edu/commencement.
The ceremony will recognize 579 students who have earned degrees this academic year.
Executive Doctor of Education Graduation
A highlight of this year's events will be the graduation of the inaugural class of the Executive Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Innovation. These inaugural cohort graduates will receive their degrees on Sunday, May 11, marking a milestone for the University's commitment to advanced leadership education. The program is designed for experienced professionals seeking to drive transformative change within their organizations and communities.
Commencement Speakers
The 2025 ceremonies will feature Commencement addresses by distinguished friends of the University:
- Michael R. Milner, DHSc, DHL, PA-C, DFAAPA – Retired Rear Admiral and former Assistant U.S. Surgeon General in the USPHS.
Speaking at the School of Health Sciences & Education Graduate Ceremony on May 10. - Dr. MaCalus Hogan, MD, MBA – David Silver Professor and Chair of the UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Chief of the UPMC Orthopaedic Surgery Service Line.
Speaking at the School of Health Sciences & Education Undergraduate Ceremony on May 10. - Hon. D. Brooks Smith – Senior Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Speaking at the combined ceremony on May 11 for:- Executive Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Innovation
- School of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics
- Shields School of Business
- Division of Professional Studies
The ceremonies will also include the conferral of honorary degrees.
