Journey to Bethlehem: A Christmas Tradition at Saint Francis University

Step back in time and experience the beauty of the nativity story as Saint Francis University presents Journey to Bethlehem. 

Join us on Friday, December 5th, for a heartfelt reenactment of Mary and Joseph’s journey, brought to life by members of the SFU community. 

Performance Times: 7:00 PM 8:00 PM 

Location: Begin your journey at the SFU Science Center. 

Inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi’s first nativity celebration in Greccio over 800 years ago, this immersive experience blends prayer, music, live animals, and both indoor and outdoor settings to create a deeply spiritual way to prepare for Christmas. As you walk alongside the Holy Family through the scenes of the Nativity, you’ll be invited into moments of reflection, reverence, and wonder, connecting the ancient story of Bethlehem to our Franciscan heritage here at Saint Francis University. 

We also welcome attendees to extend their goodwill by bringing canned goods or making a goodwill offering to support our friends at the Dorothy Day Outreach Center. Your generosity will help brighten the season for those in need. Celebrate the miracle of Christmas in a way that is timeless, meaningful, and rooted in tradition.
