Ms. Leah Kessler

Marketing and International Business Major, Class of 2014

Kessler's Story

Leah Kessler loves business, but her passion is mission work.

A 2014 alumna of Saint Francis University, Leah graduated a semester early with a degree in marketing and international business. During her time at Saint Francis she was heavily involved in clubs and activities related to both of her passions. She participated in Enactus and the Society of Economic Analysis, and was also active in the HUGS United Spring Break mission trips, as well as the Jamaica International Microlending Initiative (JIMI).

In January 2015, Leah began her career at Bausch + Lomb, where she has had continuous opportunities for growth and travel. Within her first year with the company, she was chosen by her company to serve as a representative for a company-sponsored mission trip to India in August.

The trip was centered on the dermatological needs of the people in India, and lasted nine days. In addition to Leah, it was attended by three dermatologists, a nurse, and three medical assistants. The group worked in a clinic for five days during which time they saw a total of 1,801 patients, breaking the trip’s previous record of 1,600 patients. Most of the patients were school children, who had never been to the doctor.

“The entire trip was an amazing adventure. I was able to experience the culture, history and, most importantly, the people,” Leah said. “I am young in my career but not in my ambition. My advice is to follow your passion and dream big!”

In October, Leah earned a promotion to Vision Territory manager of Waterbury, Conn. and she is looking forward to what 2016 brings.
