Biography

Kerri Golden began at Saint Francis in 2000, teaching courses in occupational therapy, leadership and management, research and additional courses in public health and health, wellness and disability. Her research interests include areas of OT practice, in addition to issues in higher education including the evolving roles of administrators, and how rural universities can address the shortages of teachers and health care practitioners. She has been a featured speaker on women in leadership topics and keeps a professional blog, Morning Coffee with the Dean, on her LinkedIn page (https://www.linkedin.com/in/kerri-golden-506351198/). She is a member of the American Conference of Academic Deans and is a 30-year member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She also serves on the board for a number of agencies related to community health.

Kerri has been recognized multiple times for her teaching excellence. She has been a finalist for both teaching and administrative awards and was honored with the Academic Educator Award from her professional association. Prior to her service as Dean, as a faculty she was widely recognized for her legislative acumen, conducting dozens of legislative visits with her students over the years to advocate for such issues as home health access, mental health parity, and to repeal the Medicare Therapy Cap. She established a network of legislative ambassadors to advocate on behalf of the OT profession and trained practitioners from across the country on skills needed to effectively interpret legislative bills and advocate with legislators on both sides of the aisle to improve health care in the US.

Kerri is married with three children. In her leisure time she enjoys walking outdoors and spending time with her family.
