Biography:
Allison Purdy Ritchey graduated cum laude from Juniata College with a degree in Secondary Education/Biology and a minor in French. She later earned both her M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and Innovation from Saint Francis University.
Allison began her career teaching seventh-grade General Science in the Altoona Area School District, where she served for ten years. She then transitioned into the field of youth wellness, designing and implementing programs and activities at a local fitness studio. Her teaching experience also includes serving as an adjunct professor at Penn Highlands Community College, where she instructed a Biology II laboratory course and instructed a master’s level Secondary Methods at Saint Francis University.
Allison embraces the rewarding role of caring for her two daughters, Meggie and Ellie. She also remains actively engaged in educational leadership through her service on Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic Academy’s Board of Trustees, as well as its Academic Advisory Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Re-Branding Committee.
In her free time, Allison enjoys traveling, skiing, reading, and spending quality time with her husband, Mark, along with her family and friends. She is passionate about teaching and looks forward to instructing graduate students, sharing her experience, knowledge, innovative ideas, and love of lifelong learning.
