The Excellence in STEM Education Teacher Award is sponsored by the Science Outreach Center at Saint Francis University to recognize excellence and innovation in the field of STEM education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. A total of three awardees will be selected annually; one each for elementary, middle school, and high school. The recipients of the awards will be honored during the School of Sciences Awards Ceremony at the Saint Francis University Science Center in April.
The applicant must be a K-12 grade STEM educator currently teaching elementary, middle, or high school level students.
Individuals must teach in schools within the Pennsylvania counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Clearfield, Indiana, or Somerset.
Individuals must promote STEM in their classrooms, implement innovative, inquiry-based, technology infused STEM programs.
Excellence in innovative inquiry-based, technology infused STEM education is the main criterion for selection of the recipients. Among the types of excellence and innovation that will be considered by the committee are programs that:
Upon receipt, applications become property of Saint Francis University. Applications will not be returned to applicants. Late or faxed applications will not be accepted.
