Laptop Program

SFU provides every full-time student with a laptop computer.  Students have access to the Internet, email, and printing services, anywhere network connectivity can be accessed. Following this plan, all full-time undergraduate students will have a laptop for the duration of their academic career at Saint Francis University. All repairs are handled in-house by our team of Certified Technicians to ensure that no student goes without a laptop for even a single day!

    • We can handle all repairs right on-site, free of charge.
    • If we can't fix the problem in 15 minutes, we give you a temporary laptop ensuring you're never without.
    • Laptops come with a warranty that includes accidental damage protection so student are covered even if the damage is their fault.
    • We are open 7 days a week.
    • Service is friendly and comfortable because it’s performed by a student peer in most cases.

    After you purchase your laptop, you'll receive services and perks for the duration of your time at Saint Francis (with NO additional fees):

    1. You can upgrade your laptop every year if you wish, or keep the same one—it's up to you!
    2. All students use the same hardware platform. This helps students and faculty judge the limitations of the student body as a whole.  Everybody knows what everybody can do and people are not left out due to out-of-date technology.
    3. Free printing. You won't pay for toner, ink, or paper.
    4. Extremely fast service! Faculty plan their Syllabi expecting that students will always have a laptop. Your classes won't wait for you to get a replacement mailed from Apple, IBM or DELL.  For that reason, we handle all you laptop's issues in-house. If we can't fix it in 15 minutes, we'll give you a replacement—you'll never not have a laptop!
    5. You save money. Some faculty can use electronic resources instead of textbooks which saves students from paying for expensive books and materials.
    6. Our laptops are guaranteed to work on our network.
    7. A wireless NIC and access to any of our access points throughout campus.  Coverage is available in all major academic and community areas.
    8. One point of contact for any and all laptop related questions as well as 24/7 online support.  
    9. Free Spyware removal. Because spyware and malware infections are self-induced problems, they are not covered under any manufacturer’s warranty regardless of where you buy a computer.  Places like Best Buy’s GeekSquad charge $199 per incident for this service, but we do it free.
