Biography

Dr. Amy Hudkins is a clinical assistant professor of occupational therapy. She has clinical experience in mental health, outpatient pediatrics, skilled nursing, and health and wellness. Dr. Hudkins remains clinically active, treating clients in the outpatient pediatric setting, with a focus on sensory processing and mental health and wellness. 

 

At the campus level, she is very active serving on a variety of committees including Faculty Senate, Committee on Committees, Faculty Salary and Benefits, Committee on Graduate Studies (Chair), Academic Court (Chair), the 175th Anniversary planning committee (Chair), Project Vision for the School of Health Sciences and Education, Student Occupational Therapy Association (Co-Advisor), Faculty-Athlete Mentor (FAM) for women's soccer. 

Dr. Hudkins participates in interprofessional education through serving as an adjunct instructor for the Education Program teaching EDUC405L: Low Incidence Disabilities Lab and for Francis WorldWide (Division of Professional Studies) teaching two Public Health courses for the career development series for college in high school students.

Dr. Hudkins serves as a research mentor to both professional phase occupational therapy students and undergraduate honors students. Her recent research activities include cancer care, telehealth services, screentime, social media's effects on disability awareness, inclusive playgrounds, assistive technology development for stuttering, caregivers of Alzheimer's Disease.

 

Dr. Hudkins is a member of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
