Traditional Freshman Entry Applicants must meet the general requirements for admission to Saint Francis University. In addition, applicants must have a high school QPA of at least 3.0 and an SAT score of at least 980 (or equivalent ACT score) It is suggested that applicants have a strong science background and volunteer or paid experience in health or human services. Forty (40) spaces are available each year in the Occupational Therapy major. Advancement to the professional phase is guaranteed, provided the student meets the progression criteria: demonstrate a minimum 2.75 grade point average by the end of the spring semester of the junior year of study demonstrate completion of all general education core and collateral courses as prescribed demonstrate a "C" grade or better in biology, psychology, and speech fundamentals courses.

Transfer Entry A limited number of openings are anticipated in both the pre-professional and professional phases. Transfers to the pre-professional phase must meet the requirements for transfer established by the University. Transfer directly into the fourth years requires that the applicant show completion of all specified general education and collateral requirements with a minimum 2.75 grade point average. Occupational Therapy Seminar classes may be waived for transfers who demonstrate appropriate community service and exposure to occupational therapy practice. A grade of "C" or better must be earned in biology, psychology and speech fundamentals courses. Progression to Year 5 Students must demonstrate a professional phase cumulative grade point average of 3.0 prior to commencement of Level II Fieldwork. If a 3.0 and a grade of at least a "C" in each course is not attained at the end of Year One of the Professional Phase, a student may not progress to Year Two of the Professional Phase. In this event, a student may: 1) select another major course of study, 2) graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree provided Saint Francis University requirements are met, or 3) Stop Out for a period of one year and reapply to correct the deficit course provided there is space available. During that time, students may seek to complete a second (dual) major or apply for a Leave of Absence from Saint Francis University. Due to the sequential nature of the coursework at the professional level, repeating a course means that progression will be disrupted. To qualify for graduation, students must successfully complete and defend a scholarly project. Level II Fieldwork experiences must be completed within 24 months of completion of academic preparation.
