Dr. Michael Kopanic, adjunct associate professor of history, adult degree & continuing studies, recently had an article, “With Feet Planted in Two Lands: An Overview of Emigration to North America from Czechoslovakia,” published in Slovo (Magazine of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library).

Joseph A. Melusky, professor of political science and director of the SFU Center for the Study of Government and Law, and Keith Pesto, U.S. Magistrate Judge and Lecturer in Political Science, have published a new book on the death penalty. The book is entitled Capital Punishment and is part of the Greenwood/ABC-CLIO series, "Historical Guides to Controversial Issues in America."

Dr. Kirk Weixel's review of Post: A Fable, Hillary Masters' tenth novel, was published on Sunday, August 28, in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Weixel is professor of English at SFU.

The National Science Foundation awarded a grant to SFU to support a project entitled "Neighborhood Social Control & Disorder in Contemporary Urban China," under the direction of Dr. Lening Zhang, professor of sociology/criminal justice.
