"You've got to be kidding! That could never ever happen!"
"Yes it has! The tabloids told me so!"
In a creative project by STAR Productions at Saint Francis University, articles from those cheesy newspapers purchased at the check-out lines will be turned into dramatic monologues as part of a theatrical presentation. The actors and actresses themselves will write their own monologues and then they will perform their own monologue creations as part of a theatrical production.
Auditions for these 'Voices from the Pages' will be held on Thursday September 5 from 6pm to 8pm in the Studio-Basement of The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art on the Loretto campus of Saint Francis University. For more information or for an alternate audition time please contact Kenny Resinski at 814-472-3216.
No previous experience necessary and no memorized reading selection is required. Performances are scheduled for late Fall.
The Audition will include a brief monologue writing exercise and then en-acting that written exercise as an acting audition. It is a bit bizarre, it is undoubtedly unusual, and it is wildly weird but also a chance to create a character that is indubitably individual.
This theatrical experience is made possible by our Fine Arts department.
