OVERVIEW

Experience the World in a Flash

The Office for Study Away at Saint Francis University offers short, immersive experiences for students wanting the Study Away experience but not necessarily wanting to leave campus for a whole semester.

 

Upcoming Programs

 

 

FIELD BIOLOGY IN THE GALAPAGOS

Students will research the ecology of The Galapagos Islands, study unique endemic Galapagos animals, and learn about the conservation efforts to preserve the islands before leaving over spring break to see these legendary islands and their inhabitants in person.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

 

During spring break, students travel to impoverished areas where they volunteer in clinical services, extensive community outreach efforts and health education programs.

INTERNATIONAL MARINE SCIENCE

Students earn a variety of Marine Science credits while diving and exploring the warm, tropical waters of St. Lucia, Belize, or Bonaire.

INTERNATIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE 

American Sign Language (ASL) students use and build the skills they have gained in the classroom with a hands-on approach through short-term immersion experiences.

SUMMER IN FRANCE

This 30-day program is based at the University’s site in Ambialet.  Excursions include visits to local castles, incredible cathedrals, museums, restaurants and a five-day stay in Barcelona.

SPANISH IN COSTA RICA

During this 4-week summer program, students become familiar with the Costa Rican culture, live with host families and gain the extra Spanish proficiency required by some majors and minors.

SPRING BREAK IN LONDON

Undergraduate and Graduate Business students may travel to London for spring break and earn credits in an innovative hybrid course: Great Britain and the European Union in the Global Economy.

WINTER IN EUROPE

During this winter break program, students will explore both Ambialet and Munich.  They will visit the Christmas markets, museums, cathedrals, castles, and more.

SUMMER IN FRANCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

High school students have the opportunity to visit the University's site in Ambialet, France. Students will become fully immersed in the culture, earning three SFU credits in Fine Arts while exploring nearby castles and quaint medieval hilltop villages.
