Mark A. Boland and Dr. Ivan Mulligan recently had articles published in two separate health science journals. Their article “The Balance Error Scoring System Learned Response Among Young Adults” was published in Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach on behalf of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. This article was co-authored by Carol McIlhenny, MHS, BSN, RN, former telehealth research specialist, at Saint Francis University’s Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA). The Balance Error Scoring System is a common balance assessment tool used in the management of sports related concussion.
In addition, their article titled “A Novel Cryotherapy Compression Wrap in the Management of Acute Ankle Sprains: Potential Use for Special Operators on the Battlefield” was published in the Journal of Special Operations Medicine. This article examined the clinical effectiveness of a cryotherapy and compression wrap developed by Arctic Ease, LLC and suggested it’s potential usefulness in the battle field by special operations forces.
