Mr. Luke Hetrick
School: Arts & Letters
Academic Department: Communications
Graduation Year: 2013
Hometown: Louisville, KY
Luke first interned, and then became a co-host of “Sports Central,” a regional weekday sports-talk program on ESPN Radio. The program covers the college and professional sports scenes in central Pennsylvania. Luke also worked as an intern at WJAC-TV, an NBC affiliate in Johnstown, Pa., and served as sports editor of Saint Francis’ student newspaper, the Troubadour.
If Luke could tell current students one thing, it would be 'Take everything in while you can and don't shy away from experiences. Even the most minor incidents can open your mind up to new thoughts and opportunities.'"
SFU taught me to be responsible and take charge of what I wanted for myself out of life. The Communications Department offers students a variety of career opportunities that students will enjoy and will give them the chance to explore their interests. My faculty opened me up to endless opportunities and they were extremely helpful in guiding me in the right career direction. The department is very caring and looks to help any student reach their goals. As helpful as they are, they are also very laid back and personable. Whatever happens in my future, I can credit the SFU Communications Department for giving me the tools to be successful. The opportunities I’ve received are a direct result of the relationships I have built with my professors at Saint Francis.
