An annual celebration, BatFlash Returns Week inspires students to lead with passion. BatFlash is a celebration of the power of superheroes. Not just the superheroes seen in movies and comic books, but the superhero that exists in each individual.

A highlight of the week was visitor and keynote speaker Dr. Michael Uslan, Originator and Producer of the Batman Movie Franchise. Dr. Uslan encouraged students to follow their dreams with passion and determination, after all, that is how he helped to bring Batman from the comics to the big screen.

Passion goes a long way; it can push us to train harder, learn more, and become leaders. The 2019 BatFlash Returns Week featured events with a nod to these themes including:

  • The Power of Grief: Supporting Others and Yourself After Loss
  • The Physicality of Superheroes
  • Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony
  • The Dark Knight and Capital Punishment
  • Superhero Parade
  • Superhero Carnival
  • Keynote Speaker Dr. Michael Uslan, Originator and Producer of the Batman Movie Franchise
  • Movie Screening of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

BatFlash is week-long celebration made possible by assistant professor Mr. Kent Tonkin and the Shields School of Business, as well as the many student organizations, staff, and faculty who contribute their time to organizing these events.
