Physical Therapy Clinical Snapshots

One of the best parts of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy is the clinical year.

Clinical education experiences are full-time, onsite opportunities where students practice their skills under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Below, students share lessons of their clinical experience at various outpatient facilities throughout the country as they prepare for graduation this spring.

Select Physical Therapy in Surfside Beach, SC.

I have learned a great deal in terms of how a physical therapy clinic is managed and how important it is to understand billing scenarios with different insurances. Surfside Beach, SC is so close to many attractions like Myrtle Beach and there is always some new event or restaurant to experience every weekend.

Hertel and Brown Physical Therapy in Erie, PA

I love the variety of patients that I am seeing on this clinical rotation. This clinical is challenging my manual skills and critical thinking. It is a very fast-paced environment so I always have to be ready for whatever is thrown at me.

I love that I get to treat a very diverse population. The patients come from all over the country and all have very different diagnoses. The clinic is in a very bustling area, with plenty of fun things to do on weekends.

Michael M. Supler & Associates in South Euclid, Ohio

I’ve been able to converse with the orthopedic surgeons who operate on our patients. Also, I have a unique opportunity to work with them in the creation of each post-operative patient’s plan of care.

Select Physical Therapy in Cypress, TX

This specific Select PT clinic is a small, but busy, out patient  facility located just outside of Houston, TX.  Currently, I love the patient population as well as the very knowledgeable therapists who are always trying to help further my education.
