In early October, The
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners granted accreditation to the Master’s Degree
program in nursing at Saint Francis University for 5 years, extending to
December 31, 2023.
Dr. Rita Trofino, Associate Dean School of Health Sciences
and Education, and Nursing Department Chair noted that five years is the
maximum initial approval for a new program. The accreditation action is
effective as of March 14, 2018, which is the first day of the program’s recent
CCNE on–site evaluation. At its meeting,
the Board determined that the program met all four accreditation standards. The
Board additionally determined that there were no compliance concerns with
respect to the key elements of those accreditation standards.
