Andrew MaloneyThe Shields School of Business proudly welcomed alumnus Andrew Maloney back to campus as an Executive-In-Resident. Andrew graduated from Saint Francis University in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Management and minors in History and Political Science. He now works for Maloney & Thompson Sports Management, a boutique hockey agency that represents players from Canada and Europe in the NHL, AHL and European leagues

During his visit, Andrew gave presentations in Sports Law, Marketing, and Stats classes. Later, students had the opportunity to speak with Andrew one-on-one during 15-minute "mentorship sessions" where they asked questions and discuss career goals.

About Andrew Maloney

Andrew was voted Mr. Frankie after serving three years as the Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper, The Troubadour, and was a three-time Academic All-American and six-time NEC Champion with the Track and Field and Cross Country teams at the NCAA Division I-Level.

Following Saint Francis, Andrew completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Juris Doctor of Law at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2009. He also worked for six years as the assistant track and field/cross country coach at the University of Tulsa, during which time he helped that program capture three Conference USA Championships, three NCAA Championships appearances for the first time in school history, and develop over ten All-Americans, and reach a USTFCCA ranking of #13 overall in the NCAA Division-I.

During this time Andrew published a biography with the University of Arkansas Press about John McDonnell entitled The Most Successful Coach in the NCAA History.

In 2011, he turned down a few opportunities to remain in college coaching to accept a position as a hockey agent with Murray & Thompson Sports Management in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, becoming certified by the National Hockey League Players Association in 2013 and a partner in the renamed Maloney & Thompson Sports Management, a boutique hockey agency that represents players from Canada and Europe in the NHL, AHL and European leagues. During the past few years, the agency has transitioned from an older clientele to younger group of prospects—just in the past two years clients have been nominated to the Hockey Hall of Fame, won Stanley Cups, Olympic medals, appeared in NHL All- Star Games, and been drafted in the 1st round of the NHL Draft. In June 2019, the agency has eight more players rated to be draft the NHL Entry Draft.

Andrew is also the sole owner of a US-Canada Immigration Law Firm based in Guelph, Ontario with over fifteen employees, and has a wife, Julia, and two-year old child, Madeline.
