ENACTUS Team Receives Student Fellows Grant

Shields Enactus Team spotThe Shields School of BusinessEnactus Team is proud to announce the award of a $5000 BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellows Project Grant.  This grant was written by BNY Mellon Project Fellow Amanda Balas and Alexandra Evans under the guidance of Enactus co-advisors Ms. Nicole Bauman and Professor Kent Tonkin.  Enactus plans on using these funds for a workforce development project in concert with Mr. Tonkin’s upcoming Fall 2018 Management 201 class.

Mr. Tonkin and Alexandra will accept the grant on behalf of Amanda and the Shields School of Business at the Enactus National Competition in Kansas City on May 21.  In addition, Ms. Bauman and Mr. Tonkin will also accompany Amanda and two other Enactus team members to Enactus World Cup Championship Competition in San Jose California from October 9-11.

Enactus is an international business club which promotes “ENtreprenuers in ACTion for all of US”.  This year’s competition marks the Saint Francis University Enactus Team’s 8th consecutive trip to national competition.  In the past year, Enactus has raised funds for worthy causes such as female empowerment in Africa, microlending in Jamaica, and child bereavement groups right here in Pennsylvania.  Enactus is open to students from all majors.
