The Center for the Study on Occupational Regulation at Saint Francis University welcomed its very first doctoral fellow, Jie Chen.
Jie is a Ph.D. student in Economics at Lehigh University. Her research interests include labor economics, health economics and policy evaluation. She holds a master’s degree in Economics from Lehigh University and a B.A. in history and economics from Peking University. In the first year of her Ph.D. program, she was a recipient of a University Fellowship. For the current semester, she is receiving a dissertation fellowship from the Center for the Study of Occupational Regulation. She looks forward to exploring the field of occupational licensing specifically in health care occupations
She will be working with Dr. Edward Timmons, Economics Professor and Director of CSOR, Dr. Chad Meyerhoefer, Associate Professor of Economics and Research Associate at NBER, and Dr. Robert Thornton, Professor of Economics, both at Lehigh University. CSOR is excited for Jie to join their team and they are looking forward to her advanced work on Occupational Regulation in the United States.
