Saint Francis University is hosting its 5th annual Sensitive Santa event on Saturday, December 3 at the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health & Wellness on campus.
Sensitive Santa allows children with sensory or other special needs the opportunity to participate in the long-time Christmas tradition of sitting on Santa’s lap and reciting their Christmas wishes without all the bright lights, loud noises, and long lines.
During the event, Santa time slots will be reserved in 15-minute increments, beginning at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Families arriving early can visit the sensory transition room before visiting Sensitive Santa. Milk and cookies, with the options of gluten or casein-free cookies or soy milk, will be shared with families upon visiting Sensitive Santa. Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their cameras and capture the moment. Families also can visit the Toy Lending Library before leaving Saint Francis University.
