The Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center will be holding a series of workshops to help individuals exploring the idea of starting a small business or businesses looking for a way to stay relevant in today’s economy.

Topics to be covered in this series include:

Writing Your Business Plan

This session will discuss the importance of the business plan and all the appropriate elements that should be included in the plan. It will also cover how to use the business plan as a way to measure and evaluate performance from year to year.

Understanding Your Market and Marketing Concepts

This session will begin with an overview of understanding your industry, how companies address competition in the market and ways firms seek to develop a competitive advantage.

Social Media Marketing

Social media has dramatically changed how businesses market themselves. This session overviews the importance of social media; the different platforms and tools available to business owners; how to create a social media campaign and keep it relevant; how paid advertising works on social media; and why social media needs to be a part of your overall marketing strategy.

Understanding Financial Statements

This session will explain how financial statements are structured and used as a tool for businesses to interpret their financial situation. It will also illustrate how individuals and companies can create projected financial statements.
