In 1973, Roe v. Wade, a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court, overrode many state and federal restrictions on abortion in the United States. Since that time, in the United States, there have been roughly 1.21 million abortions per year, that’s roughly 3,300 abortions per day.
Each year on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers, from across the United States, gather in Washington D.C. to stand up for the unborn, marching through the nation’s capital at the annual March for Life.
March on the Mountain
In order to promote the pro-life message, Saint Francis University will hold its own March for Life, or March on the Mountain, on Friday, January 27 for those that can’t attend the national rally. We will gather to unite our prayers and proclaim the sanctity of all human life along with other pro-life advocates around the country.
Everyone is invited to join us for the entire walk or for only a portion of the event, but all are encouraged to come out and show support for the cause. Some pro-life signs will be provided for the walk, but all are also free to bring their own.
