Saint Francis University presents the 2020 Engineering Design Challenge. All high school students who are interested in engineering, creative design, and/or science are encouraged to take the challenge to Push Water Uphill or Track the Sun in the Sky. To learn more about the challenge, please check out the video of the Introduction to Design Challenge on the right below.
Register for one of the challenges and you will receive an email from an SFU engineering faculty who will serve as your mentor for the challenge. All challengers will work individually to complete their designs. They can contact their assigned mentor from SFU to ask questions or receive additional resources (e.g., textbooks, helpful documents, etc.) to help them be successful on the project. The SFU Engineering Department will also offer biweekly Q&A sessions virtually. Registration will close on September 21st, 2020. We look forward to seeing the solutions to these design challenges. Good luck!
Three awards will be given for each engineering design challenge (Push Water Uphill and Tracking the Sun); a $150 cash prize and certificate for first place, a $75 cash prize and certificate for second place, and a certificate for third place. In addition, a $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to first place, a $1,500 scholarship to second place, and a $1,000 scholarship to third place, should the student choose to come to Saint Francis University (within 18 months of graduating from high school).
