    Just about everything that you need to know about Commencement Weekend at SFU is below, but If you have any questions, please contact 814-472-3005 .  Stop by the Information Desk in the upper level of the John F. Kennedy Student Center when you get here for a copy of the final schedule including  hours of operation for John F. Kennedy Student Center, the bookstore, Torvian Cafe and Frankie's.

    Student Graduation Schedule and Instructions

    Cap & Gown Information

    Visit the Herff-Jones website to order your cap and gown on-line. The deadline to order is March 17, 2019.

    Caps and gowns can be picked up at the University Bookstore in the JFK Center starting the week of April 23, 2019. Hours for pick-up are as follows:

    Monday, April 23 - 8:30 a.m.—6:00 p.m.
    Saturday, April 27 - 10:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.
    Daily Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m. and Saturday 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
    Saturday, May 11 - 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
    Sunday, May 12—8:30 a.m.—2:00 p.m. in Stokes Auxiliary Gym

      The cost of your cap and gown is included in the graduation fee that will be billed to your student account by the Business Office.

      Graduation Announcements

      Personalized announcement packages may be purchased through Herff-Jones.  The Saint Francis University Bookstore carries general announcement packets for students who prefer a simpler option.

      A final schedule of all University services (John F. Kennedy Student Center hours, Saint Francis University Bookstore hours, and Torvian Cafe and Frankie's hours) will be available at the Information Desk in the upper level of the John F.       Tickets, Parking, Directions, and Accesibility

      Tickets

      Candidates who have applied for graduation through the Registrar’s office may request up to seven (7)  general admission tickets to DeGol Arena (tickets are transferable).  

      Tickets will be distributed in the Scotus Hall Lobby from Monday, April 22 to Wednesday, April 24.  For students not on campus requests can be made by emailing vsoyka@francis.edu and they will be sent to you. 

      Accessible seating tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be distributed until all tickets are gone. In order to accommodate as many family members and friends with disabilities as possible in the reserved seating area, individuals with an accessible seating ticket will be permitted to have one companion accompany them into the accessible seating section. The companion must also have an accessible seating ticket.

      Satellite viewing of the Commencement ceremony will be available at the JFK Student Center.  Commencement is also live streamed on francis.edu.

      Parking

      Parking for Commencement is available in the commuter parking lot adjacent to the Stokes Athletics Center and in the parking lot adjacent to the JFK Student Center.  Those who have difficulty walking or who use a wheelchair may be dropped off near the main entrance of Stokes Athletics Center. University Police will be provide directions.  Questions regarding special parking needs can be directed to University Police at (814) 472-3360.

      Accessibility Accommodations

      Saint Francis aims to ensure that all guests enjoy an accessible commencement. Wheelchair reservations, requests for interpreters, and all other accessibility requests can be made by contacting April Fry at 814- 472-3176 or  afry@francis.edu

      Photography

      Photography

      Lifetouch Photography Studio will photograph each graduate as they receive their diploma.  LifeTouch photographers will also be available in the JFK Auditorium to take posed pictures of graduates after the Graduate ceremony and before the Undergraduate ceremony.  Lifetouch will email information about the handshake photos to parents and students prior to Commencement.  All portraits will be available to order via their website https://events.lifetouch.com/

      The stage in the JFK Auditorium is available to families who want to take photos of their son or daughter following the Graduate ceremony.  Undergraduate candidates who wish to take family photos may do so on the stage in Stokes following the graduation ceremony.

      4:00 p.m. Bell Ringing will take place at the Bell Tower on the Campus Mall at    4:00 pm.  Graduates are invited to meet at the Bell Tower at 3:50 pm.  Following the bell ringing, graduates will process to the Stokes Athletics Center.  Bell ringing will take place weather permitting.Bell Tower 
      4:45 p.m. Baccalaureate Mass is a wonderful opportunity for graduates, their friends and families, and faculty and staff to pray together in thanksgiving.  All denominations are  welcome to attend. No tickets are required. DeGol Arena, Stokes Athletics Center

      May 12 Schedule

      Graduate Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 12, Stokes Athletics Center.  The procession begins promptly at 9:45 am with the ceremony starting at 10:00 am.  Tickets are not required for the Graduate Commencement ceremony.

      Special seating arrangements will be made for the physically challenged on the main floor of the DeGol Arena. We ask that you restrict the number of guests seated on the floor to one or two people, as seating is limited.  Other family members should sit in regular audience seats. 

      Following the ceremony, the facility will be cleared to allow time to prepare for the next ceremony.  No one is permitted to remain in the arena between ceremonies.

      Undergraduate Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 12, Stokes Athletics Center.  Doors open at 12:30 pm.   The procession begins promptly at 1:45 pm with the ceremony starting at 2:00 pm. 

      In order to comply with fire and safety regulations, admission to the 2019 Saint Francis University Undergraduate Commencement at 2:00 pm will be by ticket only.

      All degree candidates are required to complete the Application for Degree form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar, Scotus Hall 318.
