    Just about everything that you need to know about Commencement Weekend at SFU is below, but If you have any questions, please contact 814-472-3005 .  Stop by the Information Desk in the upper level of the John F. Kennedy Student Center when you get here for a copy of the final schedule including  hours of operation for John F. Kennedy Student Center, the bookstore ,Torvian Cafe and Frankie's.

    Cap & Gown Information

    Visit the Herff-Jones website to order your cap and gown on-line. The deadline to order is March 18, 2018.

    Caps and gowns can be picked up at the University Bookstore in the JFK Center starting the week of April 23, 2018. Hours for pick-up are as follows:

    Monday, April 23 - 8:30 a.m.—6:00 p.m.
    Daily Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m. and Saturday 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
    Saturday, May 12 - 11:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
    Sunday, May 13—8:30 a.m.—10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. —2:00 p.m. in Stokes 

      The cost of your cap and gown is included in the graduation fee that will be billed to your student account by the Business Office.

      Other important dates

      • April 16 - Ticket sales begin for the Undergraduate Dinner and Graduate Reception - Visit https://my.francis.edu to place your order.
      • May 1 - President’s Awards Convocation - JFK Auditorium 7 p.m.
      • May 10 at 12 Noon - Last day to make a cash purchase for Undergraduate Dinner and Graduate Reception tickets.  Credit card purchases will be accepted until the day of the event.  

      Graduation Announcements

      Personalized announcement packages may be purchased through Herff-Jones. Announcements will arrive personalized with your name, degree, major and commencement date information. The Saint Francis University Bookstore carries general announcement packets for students who prefer a simpler option.

      Questions?

      A final schedule of all University services (John F. Kennedy Student Center hours, Saint Francis University Bookstore hours, and Torvian Cafe and Frankie's hours) will be available at the Information Desk in the upper level of the John F. Kennedy Student Center during Commencement Weekend. If you have any questions regarding Commencement weekend activities, please contact 814-472-3005. Congratulations to you and your families.       Parking, Directions, and Accesibility

      Parking

      Parking for Commencement is available in the commuter parking lot adjacent to the Stokes Athletics Center and in the parking lot adjacent to the John F. Kennedy Student Center. Those who have difficulty walking or who use a wheelchair may be dropped off near the main entrance of Stokes. University police officers will be stationed near the Stokes Athletics Center to provide directions. If you have questions in the weeks before Commencement regarding special parking needs, please contact University Police at 814- 472-3360.

      For those interested in arranging overnight accommodations in the local area, a list of  area hotels and motels is available.

      Accessibility Accommodations

      Saint Francis aims to ensure that all guests enjoy an accessible commencement. Wheelchair reservations, requests for interpreters, and all other accessibility requests can be made by contacting April Fry at 814- 472-3176 or  afry@francis.edu

      Photography

      Photography

      During the Commencement exercises, Lifetouch Photography Studio will photograph each graduate as they receive their diploma. Lifetouch photographers will also be available in the JFK Auditorium to take posed pictures of graduates after the Graduate ceremony and before the Undergraduate ceremony. The photography studio will email information about the handshake photos to parents and students prior to Commencement. All portraits from the Commencement will be available via the Lifetouch website.  Students and parents can order any pictures that are taken at graduation by logging in and using the guest password St_Francis_Grad18.  

      The stage in the JFK Auditorium is available to families who want to take photos of their son or daughter following the Graduate ceremony. Undergraduate candidates who wish to take family photos may do so on stage in Stokes following the graduation ceremony.

      4:45 pmBaccalaureate Mass - An opportunity for the graduates, their friends and families, and faculty and staff to pray in thanksgiving for the opportunity to have come together to live and learn. All denominations are welcome to attend. No tickets are required.DeGol Arena
      Following Baccalaureate MassThe buffet dinner will be served in the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center Auxiliary Gym on Saturday, May 12, for undergraduate candidates, their families and friends. Students receive three (3) complimentary tickets (one ticket for the graduate and two additional tickets for family members). Additional tickets may be purchased for $25 each for adults and $10 each for children under 12 years of age. Beginning Monday, April 16, Undergraduate candidates can order tickets on line via https://my.francis.edu. All complimentary tickets and extra tickets purchased via credit card will be printable from the https://my.francis.edu page. All cash payment tickets will require cash payment at the Business Office before the tickets can be printed on my.francis.  Cash payment ticket reservations will be accepted until noon on Thursday, May 10. Credit card payments will be accepted until the day of the dinner.  More information will be posted on the Commencement page in the next few weeks.       10 amGraduate Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 13, in the DeGol Arena of the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center. The procession will begin at 9:45 a.m. and Commencement exercises begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.Tickets are not necessary for the Graduate Commencement ceremony. There are no reserved seats for guests. Special seating arrangements will be made for the physically challenged on the main floor of the DeGol Arena. We ask that you restrict the number of guests seated on the floor to one or two people, as seating is limited. Other family members should sit in the regular audience seats.  Following the graduate ceremony, the DeGol Arena will be cleared to allow time to prepare for the Undergraduate Commencement.  No one will be permitted to remain in the arena between ceremonies.  Graduate candidates who wish to take photos after the ceremony may do so in the JFK Auditorium during the Graduate Reception.  Lifetouch photographers will also be available in the JFK Auditorium to take posed pictures of graduates.DeGol Arena, Stokes Athletics Center

All cash payment tickets will require cash payment at the Business Office before the tickets can be printed on my.francis.  Cash payment ticket reservations will be accepted until noon on Thursday, May 10.       2 pmUndergraduate Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 13, in the DeGol Arena of the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center. The DeGol Arena will open at 12:30 p.m. for graduation. The procession will begin at 1:45 p.m. and Commencement exercises begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are not necessary for the Commencement ceremony. Due to limited seating, we suggest no more than 10 guests per graduating senior. There are no reserved seats for guests. Ample seating is available for family and friends. Special seating arrangements will be made for the physically challenged on the main floor of the DeGol Arena. We ask that you restrict the number of guests seated on the floor to one or two people, as seating is limited. Other family members should sit in the regular audience seats.  Overflow seating is available in the JFK Lounge for guests that would like air conditioning.
