Science Outreach Center The Science Outreach Center at SFU was established to develop relevant, effective, and systemic efforts to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the community; increase the number of students pursuing an education in STEM fields; and support K-12 schools and their students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Core programs include the Central Pennsylvania STEM Initiative, credit-granting Summer Academies in Science and Engineering for high school students, the Mentoring Science Program (in partnership with IU8) for improving science content knowledge for K-8 teachers, the Pennsylvania Statistics Poster Competition for students in K-12, and Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids (ROCK). Events are offered throughout the year for students and teachers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Please check our upcoming events section for more information.
