| SBDC Success Story: “The SBDC is very easy to use and involves no red tape.”
Daniel Lipko Pine Bottom Aviation Services, LLC
Daniel Lipko has been a licensed helicopter pilot since 1990. Upon his retirement from the Pennsylvania State Police, he became employed by a local helicopter service. He was more than an employee; he really was the face of that business. He was the pilot, but also was the marketing force for the business. He grew the business and expanded their markets to include power line work, photographic work and even recreational tours of the area. The SBDC even assisted him with his efforts for this company. Mr. Lipko decided that he wanted to operate his own helicopter service. He felt there were many areas that the business could expand, but the owner was not interested. For instance, as the business was licensed through the FAA, he had to pick-up and drop off passengers at the same point. He was receiving many calls from potential customers that wanted him to pick them up at Point A and drop them off at Point B. He was unable to do this as the company was not licensed to do this. Prior to again meeting with the SBDC, he had started the process of getting his own business started as he formed an LLC and started to look into the process for becoming licensed as a transport service through the FAA He needed assistance in preparing a business plan and projected financial statements. | | | Continue reading the whole article by clicking here... |
