Wind Turbine Output Estimates for Class 2 and Class 3 Wind Resources
An explanation on the estimates:
The
information contained on this page is based on actual data
collected by the REC from Class 2 and Class 3 resources in Pennsylvania. The
kilowatt hours per year (kWh/yr) outputs were calculated using the
computer software Windographer which is designed specifically for such
purposes. It is important to remember that the kWh/yr listed below will
vary depending on the site, hub height, turbine, manufacturer, and
various other factors. The information listed below is to provide those
interested in wind energy with a general idea of the turbines available
and the potential outputs of the different turbines based on Class 2
and Class 3 wind sites in Pennsylvania.
For
a list of small wind turbine manufacturers please visit the Small Wind
section of our online Pennsylvania Renewable Energy Directory www.francis.edu/REC_smallwind.htm. For a list containing manufacturers of mid to large turbines, please visit Windustry’s site http://www.windustry.org/companies?filter1%5B%5D=187.
Please
be aware that some of the manufacturers listed and turbine types may no
longer be available. We have listed turbines whose power curve we have
as part of our data analysis software package.
