LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 29, 2006) – Senior Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario / Ingersoll Collegiate) fired a two-round 77-83-160 to finish 11th individually in leading the Saint Francis men’s golf team to a fourth-place showing at the Mount St. Mary’s Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
The Red Flash had four players finish in the Top-20 of the tournament, while carding a 313-334-647 in windy conditions. Bucknell (308-330) won the event on a tie-breaker after tying Fordham (311-327) with a two-round 638. Long Island (313-326-639) took third, and Monmouth (324-327-651) rounded out the top five teams.
Saint Francis has completed play during the fall schedule, and will be back in action in the spring.
Freshman Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) finished tied for 16th with a 78-85-163, while junior Matt Gowdy (London, Ontario / A.B. Lucas) and senior Craig Alvaro (Saint Thomas, Ontario / Parkside Collegiate) finished tied for 19th. Gowdy shot a 78-86-164, and Alvaro carded a 80-84-164. Junior Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec / Academie Les Estacades) took 25th with an 83-82-165
