LEWISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2006) – Saint Francis sophomore outside hitter Kristin Buter (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) posted a match-high 23.5 points and tied a career high with 21 kills, but the Red Flash women’s volleyball team dropped its final non-conference match of the season, 3-1, at Bucknell on Tuesday evening.
The Bison defeated Saint Francis 30-28, 30-27, 27-30, 30-25. The Red Flash dropped to 11-12 overall, and will try to rebound in their Northeast Conference opener at 5 p.m. on Saturday, at Sacred Heart. Saint Francis will also battle Fairleigh Dickinson, beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Buter finished the match with 21 kills, 4 assists, 2 service aces, 10 digs and 1 block. Senior Anne Roosevelt (Plymouth, Mich. / Mercy) had 18 kills, 5 digs and a block, while senior Angela Shotter (Uniontown, Pa. / Laurel Highlands) had a match-high 25 digs, and freshman Rikki Myers (Noblesville, Ind. / Westfield) pitched in with 29 assists. Sophomore Missi Vaughn (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona) added 17 assists and a service ace.
